Halloween at Universal.
At the time of my writing this article, there are only 9 weeks to go before the first Universal Halloween Horror Night.
If you have never been to one of these spectacular nights then you must go. If you have been then you will know how awesome they are but did you also know that they change and improve every year.
And the early signs are that they will do the impossible and top themselves again in 2012.
So what can you expect? The show is always wonderful and so fast moving that if you blink then you have missed something.
The general theming of the parks is absolutely wonderful and you really feel as if you are immersed in a supernatural world.
And now on the the Haunted Houses; these are always done so well but this year there is an extra frisson of excitement.
For several months there have been rumours that this years theme will be based on The Walking Dead; these rumours are true; we will be enjoying being scared witless in houses inspired by this series which is now in its 100th year.
The guests (us) will be doing battle with zombies that have set out to destroy the United States of America.
We know one house is named Roof Top and another The Hospital Corridor; familiar scenarios for fans.
These horror evenings are not included in your day pass and are separately ticketed. Honestly, I do not see how you could stand the pace of a day in the park followed by all this excitement.
Top Tip, choose any day but the weekend to visit as it is very busy and more teenagers around.
You may not wear fancy dress (I presume so you do not get confused with the cast of whom there seem to be hundreds)
Some attractions are open for you to enjoy.
If you are feeling flush there are fast passes available (not sure what I think about the ethics of that but that is by the by)
It is not suitable for children; much too scary!
The start date for Halloween Horror Nights 2012 is the 21st of sep; thereafter, sep dates are the 22nd, 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th.
October dates are 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 12th, 12th, 14th, 17th, 18thth, 19th, 20th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th and 31st.
If you are considering a holiday to coincide wiuth Halloween then late september, first 2/3 weeks in october are much less busy.
