Dine at the Hard Rock Cafe
After many years of visiting Orlando and Universal Studios we finally managed to book a table at the Hard Rock Cafe. The Cafe in Orlando is the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the world, is very impressive and is next door to Hard Rock Live with its mock Roman amphitheatre style of building. It also contains more rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia than any other Cafe.
The restaurant (you really cannot call it cafe) is multi-floored and we were seated on the top floor, which meant we had to walk through much of the memorabilia displayed on their walls. There is just so much to take in. Also on the walls are large TV screens showing concert footage of the music being played. Unlike the Rainforest Cafe where the background noise (animatronics) is far too loud, here the music is played at the right level so you can hear what is being played but not having to shout at each other to have a conversation.
Important as the décor and ambience are, the food is the most significant item that a restaurant must do well, and yes at the Hard Rock Cafe they have this correct.
For starters we ordered a portion of onion rings and potato skins which we shared between us. They were both excellent and disappeared very quickly. For drinks the kids ordered milkshakes. My wife also ordered a milkshake but she got the souvenir Hurricane Glass which included refills and made an unusual present for when we got back home. I ordered my favorite tipple, a bottle of Budweiser, which the Hard Rock Cafe has an exclusive designed bottle which I have also brought back to the UK to use as a penny jar.
For our entrées we ordered from both the children’s and main menus. My wife and I both had the Legendry 10oz Burger, our eldest daughter had a chicken burger and the younger two ordered a pizza each. All of the food was excellent and great value for money. I would recommend anybody to go to the Hard Rock Cafe on their vacation to Orlando. We will certainly be returning on our next trip.
The Hard Rock Cafe is located within the CityWalk entertainment complex at Universal and is open from 11am till late. Their telephone number is 407-351-ROCK. Also located within the venue is a merchandise shop which opens at 9am and shuts at the same time as the restaurant.
Whilst researching this article I looked on the website at the concert venue Hard Rock Live – Orlando. This has a forthcoming events page which I will be visiting frequently before our next trip to see who’s performing there and maybe booking tickets.
