Hotel versus Villa

What do you book when you are visiting Orlando? A hotel or a villa.

Lets have a look at both, hotel first. There are many very adequate hotels in and around Disney, prices range from $35/40 per night per room upwards, but most good hotels will cost around $85 per night per room and although they are clean and comfortable, if you a family of say two parents, 1 boy and 1 girl, both teenagers, they will want their own rooms, the children’s rooms will be charged for under occupancy, but lets just take it as a medium hotel with 3 rooms at standard cost of say $65 per night, that’s $195 per night for a family of 4. Also, as I said the rooms are quite comfortable but, you cant really chill out, so you find that you feel that you must go out all of the time, result, after the first week you get all parked out and very tired. In addition to this, you have to find somewhere to eat for every meal, very expensive.

Total cost of accommodation for a two week stay $2730 plus all the expense of every single meal out and you come back home feeling like you need a holiday.

Now, the villa. The villa will be privately owned, you are getting the use of someone’s pride and joy, it is of the standard that the owner wishes to stay in because the owner will take his or her holidays there. You will get the best of equipment from TV’s to stereo systems, cookers, fridges, beds, table tennis tables, foosball, pool, air hockey, even down to the cutlery. You will have the private use of a pool and most have a spa, you can chill out and relax, or go to the parks, the choice is yours, you do not have to vacate your room because the cleaner is coming in. You will can cook a meal or barbeque at your villa, which will be a lot cheaper that eating out, or eat out as you choose. You can go to the parks in the morning, come back to the villa mid day whilst it is hot and the kids are fractious and then go back to the parks again at night when it has cooled down and you and the kids have rested.

I know that some people choose hotels but you have to admit that the villa choice really does seem to be getting the edge on where to stay when you vacation in Florida. How much does all of this cost, you would be forgiven in thinking that it would be very expensive and out of reasonable reach. You can get a villa from around $140 per night with all of its quality and extras, and the facility to do as you wish, when you wish.

I know what my choice is.
