Houlihans
Not often spoken about but truly an awesome restaurant full of delicious food and excellent wine.
Houlihan’s has 4 locations around the Orlando area but the one we tend to visit is the restaurant on the US192. W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hway.
With its Parisian style decor, soft lighting a vibrant atmosphere, we as a family have never been disappointed dining out here. On our arrival in Orlando, we always pick a restaurant for our first meal and Houlihan’s tends to be top of the list.
One of the most noticeable things about the décor are the huge picture’s hanging from the wall. All very Art Novo, modern and certainly a talking point for the family to discuss. The seating is spacious and comfy, and the tables are large so you are not cramped in anyway.
The restaurant seems to have 3 parts / areas. Two dining areas, one smaller but more of a relaxed bar type area, where as the other is the main restaurant where families sit in comfort enjoying their evening meal after a fun packed day at the theme parks. The third is the outside bar, which brings a welcome retreat for those who wish to soak up the Floridian night air while enjoying a chilled beer.
The menu from start to finish will have your mouth watering as you read the various dishes on offer, a typical American style menu with lots of surprises thrown in to give Houlihan’s that little edge on its competition.
One thing we did notice being a big fan of red wine is the excellent choice of wines. Houlihan’s seems to boost an unbelievable wine cellar full of local and national American Wines along with a small selection from other parts of the world. Prices range quite dramatically from what we could see, but they all looked very inviting to accompany your evening meal. We did try a couple and were very pleasantly satisfied with the red we chose. The waiters will help with your selection and recommend a wine for the dish of your choice. Very helpful.
We have dined at Houlihan’s on many occasions; our kids love the food, the dining, and the whole experience. Along with the self-motivated staff that will be there to help and serve at any point in the night, you are sure to have a fantastic meal out. We are just counting the days now until we are back in the Sunshine state so we can head on down the US192, park up and go and enjoy another great meal at Houlihan’s.
