Jaws Ride at Universal Studio
The Jaws ride must have been running for 20 years now at the Universal Studios Park in Orlando and rumours are that it will close its doors in 2012 for good to make way for a new attraction so visit this attraction soon if you get the chance.
I have visited this attraction many many times and very often we have had to queue for twenty to forty minutes although there ques and all under cover and so you don' t have to overheat in the hot Florida sunshine.
The ride starts by you waiting for a boat on the docks at Amityville, shortly your boats pulls in alongside the dock complete with guide and soon you’re climbing on board and the keen eyed amongst you will notice certain areas of the boat seat seem…. shall we say a little wet !
You' re cruising around the harbour with your guide showing you the sites and pointing out some famous houses from the jaws movie when a message comes in over the radio for chief Brody a fellow cruise boat has sank and he needs you to go and pick up survivors . Full speed ahead you go till you round a corner and then you see the cruise boat sinking quickly into the deep within seconds your guides on the radio to the chief no survivors what happening? ! ? Very soon you find out.
A huge shark flies out of the water directly at the side of your boat and if you' re not ready it can startle you and get you wet, the guide whips out her shotgun, yes you heard me right a shot gun and starts shooting into the water at the area where the shark is.
Your guide give the boat full throttle to escape the huge shark and you hid in a boat house a very dark boat house and soon the shark finds you, this is met with a lot of screams from the boat passengers once again you speed out of the boat shed to another open area where your attacked by the shark again only this time there a fuel tank.
You guessed it soon something bursts into flames near the fuel tank and fuel spills out into the water close to you , within second its explodes and bursts into flames in fact it gets quite hot on the left hand side of the boats before you speed of to the next section of ocean.
I won' t spoil the ending for you but anyone that has seen the films will know the ending, the ride is very entertaining especially if you have a good guide as it' s there commentary and performance that brings it all to life
