Florida Guide > Dining
This popular family restaurant is located at:
8553 West Irlo Bronson Hway – located 4 miles west of the Disney World entrance on the 912 heading towards the 27 next to Orange Lake Country Club.
It is very convenient for guests staying in the Formosa Gardens area, Lindfields or travelling on the 192 to homes on the 27.
As well as a restaurant it does a thriving “to go” trade and orders can be phoned in advance: 407 239 6555. We often use the service on the night we arrive as some of the family are starving whilst others just want something light and most of them want to dive in the pool and not go out to eat!
JT’s is divided into 3 areas. A games room, with a bar area adjacent that has seating to eat at if desired, and a large restaurant.
There is loads of cowboy memorabilia throughout JTs the most striking of which is the painting over the bar of “Bone Mizell” a beer guzzling central Florida cowboy who allegedly branded cattle with his teeth! Stuffed animal heads on the walls surround you.
The games area is very popular with older children and they can play here whilst they wait for their meal or their parents have a drink at the bar. Here they can play pool and there are also two electronic dartboards.
The walls of the bar area are adorned with football/ rugby jerseys from several countries. Recently they have added two computer games to the actual bar counter. Here adults can have a drink and/or a meal at the bar. This area also has several tables and chairs that families can eat at.
The restaurant itself is large but can get very busy especially during happy hour (this finishes at 6.30pm) and even more so in bad weather when families head home early from the parks.
All sizes of party can be adequately catered for and there are peg board games (these can also be bought in the reception area) on every table to keep you occupied whilst you wait to be served.
Hot bread is bought to each table as you order; ice-cold pitchers of beer and carafes of wine seem to be very popular with many customers.
JTs are open all day with a Lunch and Early Bird Specials all served with vegetable and choice of potato.
For those with small appetites there are salads, although these are not that small, and a great selection of starters, which can be ordered as a main meal. Their sandwiches, which are all served with fries and pickle, are very good particularly the Open faced Steak Sandwich, which has a 7 oz NY strip.
The Junior’s menu is larger than most and our girls love the Rack of Baby Back Ribs.
There is a great selection of Steak, Chicken and Seafood dishes and you can add Shrimp or Scallop to any of these for about $6.
Although there is little room left for desserts our girls usually manage to share a JTs Brownie ala mode and Granddad opts for his favourite Key Lime Pie.
This restaurant is popular with a lot of our guests particularly those with older children.
