Florida Guide > Dining
On our recent trip we have experimented with a number of restaurants just for a change and tried the Logan’s Roadhouse tucked away at the Rolling Oaks junction of the 192 and the 429. It is easily missed but on the same side of the road as Millers but as it lies back a bit it is sort of hidden from view at the traffic intersection but pleased we found it it was well worth the effort.
You turn off the 192 as though you are heading for the Applebees and the Publix but keep going past the Medical centre and it is tucked away right by the 429 overhead.
It is the usual meet and greet restaurant with a bar area. It was busy the night we went with customers waiting outside so as there were only two of us we seated ourselves at the bar. Whilst we waited for our drinks (they have a Happy Hour until 600pm) we enjoyed some of the peanuts that were freely available. Took a little while to realise you either threw the empties on the floor or used the second bucket to put them in. If that ran out of peanuts there was a great big barrel with a huge
scoop to help yourself to endless refills.
There are all sorts of happy hour deals on beer and food at the time we were there the two for one large beers were cheaper than normal regular sized beers. The bar is surrounded with all sorts of beer signs and the usual array of TV’s we watched Nadal winning on the one but there is a real good choice of channels.
The bar has got a huge freezer cabinet at the back so you can see all the sorts of beers they have which was better than having them tucked away under the counter.
We both had steak and thought it was perhaps amongst the best we had had in Orlando and realistically priced. They were careful to ask you how you wanted it cooked and asked us to cut it before we ate it to make sure it was how we wanted it. The baked sweet potatoes were very big and really loaded. Great food.
At the time we arrived they were doing a two full meals for $13. 99 which they kept open for us at the bar whilst they served other diners so we could take our time. It was a good night out and great value I advise you to get there well before the 6 o’clock deadline and take advantage of their offers.
