Manny's Chop House
Do you like simple but very good food then Manny’s is for you.
Situated on Highway 27 (approx 6 miles south from Interstate 4) you will find Manny’s Chop House on the right as you drive south. Two blocks on from the entrance to Southern Dunes past Wal Mart.
Initially we had driven past Manny’s so many times and although it always looked busy it just didn’t seem the right place for us, don’t ask me why it was just a feeling. Looking back how very wrong we were.
Friends of ours stopped by there one evening and the next day told us to try it as they had loved it. So off we went that very evening. Never looked back and now visit Manny’s as often as we can.
The first evening we went we had not booked and did have to wait nearly 30 minutes for a table, mind you there is a bar and we spent the time just looking round all the signs he has up – fascinating. We now always ring in advance and never have to wait very long at all.
I think in the last couple of years I have tried all the steaks they have to offer and have loved everyone especially the Filet Mignon which at $17. 48 is to die for. If I remember correctly this is the most expensive steak but you can eat steak from $9. 99 and they are all gorgeous.
With all meals you get a salad bowl. Manny will not give out the ingredients but I have to say the taste is delightful. This salad could be a meal in its self, and it is a never ending bowl.
Manny’s is not an expensive place and the portions are very generous.
From soups to salads from chicken to seafood, what ever you order you will be delighted. Then on to desserts well what can I say do try the Key Lime Pie, yummy! !
Manny, Angie (Manny’s wife) and Niko his son run this restaurant along with a very helpful bunch of service staff. Your waiter/waitress will introduce herself and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. We found it quite amusing when we went with a large party that she wrote all our names on the table in front of us so she wouldn’t forget who we were. You are made to feel very special and that along with the wonderful food you will be served leads to a great night out.
If you fancy a meal round your own pool in your villa then ring Manny’s order what you want and it will be ready for you to collect when your are ready.
In our opinion this is one of the nicest eateries around, very relaxed and very entertaining.
