Manny's Chop House
If you fancy somewhere a bit different to eat why not try Manny’s. It’s located a little outside the main tourist area, but it is quick and easy to get to.
To find it head south on the US 27. You need to drive about 9 miles south of the intersection with I4 (Exit 55). Once you pass the Walmart on your left, Manny’s is just past the second set of traffic lights on the right hand side, opposite Badcock’s furniture store.
You’ll find Manny’s is very popular with the locals, which is always a sign of a good quality restaurant , so if you are going at a popular time it’s worth phoning ahead for a reservation ( call 863 422 3910 ), or you could have a drink at the bar while you wait for a table to become available, but it may be a bit of a squeeze.
We found it to be similar to TGI in it’s menu , but a much nicer atmosphere and you could smell the fine flavours cooking as you walked through the door. The menu covers lots of different cuts of steak as well as the usual burgers too. Maybe you will choose fajita’s or chicken or ribs. It’s hard to decide.
There is a nice children’s menu which includes Cheese Nachos. Beware as the starters are very generous portions – for example the loaded skins consisted of 6 halves stuffed full, and the onion rings at least 10 sizeable rings.
Add to this the freshly baked rolls, with whipped cinnamon butter, and a huge bowl ( almost washing up bowl sized) of tossed mixed salad, you will understand why we were feeling full before the entrees even arrived! We still managed to make a brave attempt to finish them , but had to pass on deserts , although the peanut butter pie sounded very appealing. Many people left with doggie bags!
The sodas come with unlimited refills and extra long straws to reach the bottom of the huge cups.
On Mondays and Tuesdays children eat for free, and Wednesday’s it’s buy on get one free on Fajitas. Even Happy Hour is supersized from 4pm – 7pm with 2 for the price on 1 on draught Bud.
We found the waitress staff friendly and very helpful, especially as some members of our family have food allergies.
Pricewise, the bill for our family of 5 was $56 dollars , for 2 starters, 3 adult meals and 2 kids eat free, with sodas all round.
Why not give it a try?
