My Favourite Things to do in Florida
There are many many things I like to do in Florida but thought I would try and share the best of these with you.
Breathing in the Florida air as you leave the airport terminal and cross the road to get your car – you really know you have arrived.
Getting up early that first morning (impossible to stay in bed with the time difference anyway! ) making a cup of tea and sitting outside on the lanai to watch the sun come up. Even better at weekends and holiday periods as you can see the air balloons floating over the villa.
That first all- you- can -eat breakfast at Shoneys.
The first visit to Walmarts – my Mother and I have been known to get there at 5. 00am on our first morning because we could not sleep, we were surprised at the number of shoppers already there.
Strolling around our community early in the day before the sun gets too hot and delighting in the peace and cleanliness. My niece did ask me once when we came home form Florida” Why are English streets so dirty when American ones are so clean. ”
Arriving at Animal Kingdom as it opens, enjoying the cooler morning air and seeing the characters that are at the gate to greet you.
Traveling on the boat to Magic Kingdom.
At Hollywood Studios going on the Toy Story Mania ride without having to queue for too long this is my favourite ride.
Beating my Father’s score at Men in Black.
Riding on the Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom. This rarely gets too crowded I love the atmosphere on this and the drivers are always entertaining.
Spending a day visiting Premium and Prime Outlets and finishing the day exhausted sitting at the bar in Fridays for cold beer and appetizers.
Sitting in my sand chair at the waters edge on the white sand beach at Treasure Island. My Father always says if he wins the lottery that is where he will go to decide where to spend his fortune!
Having lunch or an evening meal at Bubba Gumps over looking the boats at St Johns Pass if we have an overnight stay at Treasure Island.
The bus tour at St Augustine which show you so many fascinating places to visit.
The Osborne Family of Lights at Hollywood Studios at Christmas.
Also at Christmas sitting outside the wine bar in Celebration watching the children playing in the snow then strolling down to the lake and watching the horse drawn carts taking the people on a tour of the town.
Looking at all the decorated houses in Celebration at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Finally at the end of an exhausting day sitting with my feet in the pool at our villa with a glass of wine in my hand.
