Often Missed Attractions
Some of the often missed attractions at the magic Kingdom in Disney world can be the most entertaining. So often people arrive full of anticipation and head excitedly straight up Main Street, USA and completely miss the Walt Disney World Rail Road.
This twenty minute scenic tour of the Magic Kingdom takes you on a behind the scenes tour of the park in one of four authentic antique steam powered engines. Naturally when you arrive at the station, which is situated at the entrance of the park as you go through the turn styles, the porters are dressed in costume and will guide you onto the train.
You will pass through the entire park seeing views of the rides often missed when just walking round. There are several stops on the way where you can alight and explore the area. You could stop off at Frontier Land and watch the people on the bridge get a soaking as the Splash Mountain cars fly down the log flume and spray them liberally with water. It can be a great relief to be able to hop on the train and return to the entrance, as walking back from the furthest reaches of the park at the end of the day can be very tiring. This is a really good chance to have a rest and see the park in all it’s glory, so do give it a go.
The Main Street Vehicles are classics like the fire engine, omnibus, horseless carriage or trolley car. You can board at Main Street Square and be transported, in grandeur, up the street past all the stores to Cinderella’s Castle.
The Tomorrow Land Transit Authority People Mover is a leisurely ride around Tomorrow Land. You will enter your car via a moving up hill walkway onto one of those tricky moving floors. Once in your car you can sit back and relax while you view all the sights of Tomorrow Land including an aerial view of the Speedway track with the small children driving their first cars and a dark ride through the roof of Space Mountain, where you can see the riders ascending the steep up hill part of the roller coaster and hear them scream as they descend and swirl round the track. You will also pass by the entrance to The Carousel of Progress, Walt Disney’s view of the changing 20th century.
With great imagination the commentator on the ride will announce that there is a message for Mr Morrow, Mr Tom Morrow – very droll.
So do keep a look out for all the wonders that Disney World has to offer.
