Break time for lunch…afternoon on Day 2
We made our way to Richter’s Burger Company for a quick lunch unfortunately it appeared that the IT system has failed and no place in Hollywood Studios could process any payments for food or anything via Credit card electronically.
This lead to bigger than normal ques for food and drink in most eateries but in true Disney / Universal style they quickly organised customers and got things moving, Will managed to spill Karlie’s drink all over the table just as he arrived with the food and another drink was hastily organised.
Lunch was soon devoured and we headed over to the real destination that was all our minds “the wizarding world of Harry Potter Diagon Alley, Karlie had particularly been wanting to visit this new area of the park and was the envy of many of her friends back home whom all were highly jealous that she would see it first.
Last time I visited over 4 years ago this area was under construction and I have to say they have done a wonderful job, just outside is the purple triple decker Knights Bus that is in one of the films, but we didn’t hang around there long we wanted to enter diagon alley.
This is a great place you really feel part of the Harry Potter film with many places looking very much as in the film we explored the shops and made our way to Escape from Gringotts ride, this was another on Will and Karlie’s to do list, Shirl and I pondered whether to ride this or not but it looked like another roller coaster so eventually decided not too although later on when will and Karlie returned and described the ride we wish we had done it, next visit we will ride it.
After the ride had finished we strolled through Knockturn Alley and then into the one shop you have to visit in harry potter world Olivanders the shop of wands, a long time was spent looking at all the different wands and was surprised at all the wizards in there cloaks casting spells.
Time for a change now so we headed to Men in Black “Alien Attack which is still one of my favourite rides in Studios, I can remember it being built but it I still very popular soon we were entering the MIB vehicle as we were a party of 4 a couple of single riders joined us.
One of them a guy who asked “are you guys competitive? “ oh yea! ! ! ! I replied “good” he answered “then your going down”…well we all like a challenge and soon enough I was zapping aliens for all my worth a quick glance across I noted he and everyone else was scoring more than me well the next few minutes my fingers and my zapping gun went into overdrive Will managed to hit the bonus red button and at the end they guy on the left who had challenged us had lost to all of us.
As were came to the end of the ride his wife shouted to “him how did you do? ” and he just looked and said he didn’t want to talk about it, be careful who you challenge in future I thought and chuckled inside all good fun.
