Pointe Orlando
If you feel like a leisurely afternoon where some members of your party can shop whilst others go the cinema and you all meet up afterwards for a meal Pointe Orlando is well worth a visit.
This is located at 9101 International Drive, just a short drive from Orlando's major theme parks, and across the street from the Orange County Convention Center. Telephone at 407-248-2838 for shopping hours.
They operate a parking validation program, which offers free parking for your entire stay with purchase of a movie ticket or food and beverage at any participating restaurant. Guests should present their parking ticket at the Muvico Pointe 21 ticket counter or at the restaurants for validation.
Adjacent parking is also available in a 2,000+ space, five-story parking garage. A pedestrian bridge easily connects the garage to the complex's second-floor entertainment level.
We usually take our AAA card and present this to get a free discount voucher book. However, I am sure if you search the usual Orlando free publications you will find a coupon for this book.
The ladies in our party decided to have an afternoon shopping whilst the men took the younger members of our group to the cinema.
There are 21 curved wall-to-wall screens at the cinema. Although on this occasion we did not avail ourselves of it they provide a Food and Flicks option for $20 that includes movie, meal from a special menu at participating restaurants at the Pointe, tax, gratuity and parking validation. Some restrictions may apply. If you want to check movies and times call 407-92-MOVIE.
Pointe Orlando shopping ranges from the latest designer clothing to the coolest glow-in-the-dark collectibles. Here you will find popular national brands and unique merchandise at over 60 stores and kiosks.
My Mother always heads straight for Axi Armani, which offers casual sportswear for those lucky enough to have plenty of time to relax! We also stop of at Bimini Shoes where you can get some great shoes. If you are looking for leather clothing Image Leather is a must.
This trip we did not have the men shopping with us but when we do they like to go to Players Golf which offers golf and casual wear for both men and women. If you are an AAA Member you can pick up your Pointe Orlando VIP card here.
For those of you looking for jewellery there are several upscale stores.
On this particular trip we also called in at Kid’s Footlocker as well as Toy Time the latter having an amazing array of children’s toys.
We had decided to meet up to dine at a restaurant but if you just fancy a coffee there is a Starbucks in the complex.
There are several restaurants on site including Hooters where you can get great wings and sandwiches as well as jugs of ice-cold beer. If you fancy Buffalo Shrimp or Crawfish, Lulus Bait Shack is the place to go.
This time we chose Johnny Rockets restaurant, which serves simple, great-tasting food from a menu of All-American favourites. We all opted for their juicy burgers followed by freshly baked apple pie. This is a great restaurant if you have kids.
We have never stayed late in the evening but there is a casual open air Margarita bar which boasts more than 50 different tequilas and live bands and entertainment six nights a week, and for the real night owls there are two nightclubs the Matrix and the Metropolis.
Point Orlando is a complex that is well worth a visit.
