Sarah's Mediterean Restaurant
If you travel along the 192 to the 27 junction and head north towards the Walmart traffic lights on the left hand side is the Cagan’s Crossing shopping centre. Here you will find some little gems tucked away.
Sarah’s Mediterranean restaurant is just one of those well worth a visit.
It does not seem to have that flash welcoming exterior but do not be misled the food is authentic filling and well-priced. The restaurant is furnished with black and red tablecloths and flowers on every table.
They open at 10. 00am and initially serve breakfast until 11, 30am. Choices include Greek Omelette, Turkey Eggs and Cheese Melt, Chicken Liver and Chicken Gizzards. To any dish you can add Breakfast Potatoes, Turkey, Sausage or Bacon.
There is a great choice of food for both Lunch and Dinner. Starter mains and sweets are all well worth trying but not all at one sitting. A lot of the food like sweets is displayed in the cabinets and there are many pictures on the walls and it is all freshly cooked while you wait. Grandad loves the kebabs with a salad and pitta bread and has not been let down by any of his choices.
The hummus that comes with all the dishes tastes just like it has been freshly made and is delicious. There appear to be two sisters and a husband/dad who do all the work and are always friendly and can advise you on what are the day’s specials. You cannot find it on the web but it is well worth making a detour to check it out.
There are menus and it seems to do a good take away trade but no alcohol only soft drinks and coffee. Sarah’s is particularly busy at lunchtime with office and shop workers eating in or taking away as well as an increasing amount of tourists returning time and again.
There are always some sort of combo meal deals available starting at $5. 99. These include a main, drink and fries and are all very filling. They have Gyros, Chicken Beef and Falafel. Mains such as Kebab’s, Moussaka are all there with good sized portions and tasty cooked in front of you by the friendly chefs.
The sweets are a little more expensive but can be boxed up for take away they are typically sweet and sugary but worth a try. Probably best to share one initially!
Please do not be put off by the stark surroundings the food and staff are excellent and you will return as we do many times.
