Florida Guide > Shopping
Shop, Shop, Shop!
You will want to do some serious shopping sometime during your holiday in Orlando and here I have some tips to help you through the mountain of retail opportunities in the area.
First, choose where you want to shop: this will probably depend to some extent on where your vacation villa is situated.
If you are in the 192 area then you will probably head for Premium Outlets. This is located at 8200 Vineland Avenue (zip is 32821) or there is Mall of Millenia; you will find this at 4200 Conroy Rd ( zip is 32839)
For those staying on the 27 there is the more recently opened Posner Center which has all the usual stores and is easy to get round. You just drive your car from store to store loading the boot as you go.
Also north on the 27 is Clermont Lakes which is very similar to Posner.
Then of course there is the dear old Florida Mall which those of us that have been going to Florida for a long time know and love. A very big mall that requires a lot of walking.
Lastly, The Loop is getting very popular and you will find that at 3208 north John Young Parkway.
Before you even go away check out the websites of the mall(S) you fancy and check to see if they have any special events or sales. Also search the sites of your favourite brands to see if they have any discount coupons.
This goes for retaurants as well; many of thenm will have vouchers to print; especially if you register your email address.
Now, my first top tip; take your credit cards with you and leave the menfolk behind! You do not need a male voice complaining that you do not need any more of this this or that.
Make a list but keep an open mind. Take with you the sizes of all your family members so you are ready if you spot a bargain for them.
Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to get on/off in the fitting rooms and flat shoes or sandals.
Once you are there plan yout route and maybe even think of splitting up if there is a lot to do. Make frequent stops for a coffee and lunch and never stand when you can sit. My husband takes advantage of every seat you come across.
A currency converter is useful for comparing prices and the best bargains are to be found in trainers, t shirts jeans and the like.
All the while remember that you have to get all this shopping home and excess baggage does not come cheap. Sp perhaps the best advice is do not pack too much stuff to bting over; you do not need smart clothes and there is a laundry in your villa.
