Shopping at Walmart
Ever since our first visit to Florida over twenty years ago the whole family have been great fans of Wal-Mart. We usually manage to make our first visit to a store within the first few days of our holiday.
In the early years there was only one Wal-Mart nearby and that was at the far end of the 192 past Medieval Times about twelve miles away. Now they seem to be springing up everywhere although many are not as big or offer as much choice as the Medieval Times one which is open 24 hours. The nearest one to our villa is in Clermont about a mile away near the junction of the 192 and the 27. If we go south on the 27 we visit the one near the I4 junction.
In recent years we have made quite a lot of use of their on-line service. Before we leave the UK we shop on-line using their site to store service. With this you order what you need, choose the store you want it delivered to, pay by credit card and collect it when you get to Florida. We find it best to order just under 2 weeks before we go as it can take about 10 days to deliver to store where they keep it for I think it is 2 weeks awaiting collection. Once you have ordered they send you a receipt that you print off and take to the store to collect your item/s. We have saved many shopping hours doing it this way and have even bought a bed in a bag home with us!
All the family like to buy different things from the store. The girls when they were young were able to get a great selection of every kind of doll at far cheaper prices than they can get in the UK. Over the years we have also bought many different toys for Santa to bring them.
I always buy plenty of their own brand bite creams, antibiotic cream as well as great foot cream for a fraction of the price. Cosmetics such as Revlon, L’Oreal, Maybelline and Rimmel are always a good price. My friend buys all her false nails from her.
If you are looking for Disney merchandise they have lots of items, t shirts, hoodies and loads of souvenirs. However I feel the larger store by Medieval Times has a better selection
They stock the popular Fruit of the Loom underwear and you really will be spoilt of choice with their variety.
I can spend ages looking through their Food section and was regularly bringing back loads of their Jack Daniels Sauce until Asda started stocking it in the UK!
Wal-Mart is well worth a visit for all the family.
