Texas De Brazil (7)
If you are looking for that somewhere a little bit different to eat and don’t mind paying a few extra dollars, then this is a great place to choose.
Texas de Brazil is situated at the top end of International Drive, opposite Festival Bay Mall. It is a restaurant which specialises in deliciously seasoned grilled meats but it also has the most wonderful salad/tapas/soup/anti-pasta bar.
Not only is the food excellent but the whole atmosphere is enhanced by the gauchos who roam the room with skewers of meat to tempt your appetite. There is an excellent bar. My husband enjoys a fine wine and he was very impressed with the wide variety of choice. On the other hand, I do not drink alcohol but the cocktail waiter whipped up a delicious drink for me after asking a few questions about my favorite flavours.
There is a very useful scheme in place which means that you control how much attention you get from the servers. There is a disc provided to each customer with a green side and a red side. If you place your disc on green, then you will be inundated with a wide variety of meats from which to choose. I loved the fact that I could try a little of anything, rather than a large amount of just one item If you have your card on red then you are left to dine in privacy.
We joined the Texas de Brazil Club during our last visit and have already received some very tempting offers. The last one was a free meal when paying for one meal. (Saturdays excluded)
We have also used their gift card scheme which looks like a very discreet credit card.
We have some friends who were delighted to receive this as an anniversary gift.
This restaurant is also suitable if you have vegetarians in your group, even though it is essentially a steak house. There is an option to pay just for the ‘salad bar’ this provides a wonderful buffet, ideal for my brother in law who is a vegetarian, with a very hearty appetite.
Some of the menu items, for example the lobster, are a la carte so you must just be aware beforehand as to how that bill can climb if you choose all the many additional items on offer.
The dinner is approximately $45 but if you choose just the salad bar it comes in just under $30. Drinks, fish items, desserts, gratuities are all additional.
This isn’t a place to eat every day but it should definitely be on your list of places to try.
