The Mall at Millenia
Do you love to shop? Do you love designer brands? Do you love the latest runway fashions from London, New York, Milan and Paris? If you can answer “yes” to any of these questions then I can highly recommend a visit to The Mall at Millenia at least once during your visit to the sunny state of Florida.
The Mall at Millenia, which first opened its doors in 2002, is the ultimate shopping experience. Firstly, the dramatic architecture of the upscale two-storey building as you approach your destination takes your breath away. Valet parking, foreign currency exchange even global shipping at the onsite post office (so no need to carry those cumbersome packages around with you) is available to all who visit.
At the main entrance is an indoor fountain display and, during the holiday season, a huge multi-storey Christmas tree. Over one hundred and fifty retail stores include Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Burberry, Dior, Jimmy Choo, Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Macy’s and Bloomingdales. Need I go on? This fantastic collection of world class shops could only be rivalled in New York. Orlando’s first Apple store was opened at the Mall.
Then there are the numerous dining options; The Cheesecake Factory being my favourite. It is worth making the trip to the Mall even if only to eat here. If you intend to eat at McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Bar it is worth knowing that they have a happy hour which includes a bar food menu at only $1. 95. This is served from 3. 30pm until 6. 30pm. If you desire lively nightlife a visit to Blue Martini should be on your agenda. This is one of Orlando’s most fashionable martini lounges. Blue Martini’s happy hour is held on a Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm and has live music each evening starting at 7pm. There are two Starbucks coffee shops and a Johnny Rockets within the mall and also a huge food court.
Numerous car parks surround The Mall at Millenia and I would suggest that you make a note of where you park. One time we visited we were convinced that our car had been stolen only to realise that we had been wandering around the wrong car park for thirty minutes. We must have looked very suspicious because the security patrol car approached us and after we explained our predicament the security guard told us to hop in and he would help us to find our car. How’s that for first rate service?
Throughout the year The Mall at Millenia holds special events including guest appearances, champagne receptions, pre season samples, book signings, fashion shows, even jazz performances. The list is endless.
