The Olive Garden
Another place not to be missed in this beloved state is The Olive Garden. Founded in 1982 now a family of local restaurant’s focused on delighting every guest with a genuine Italian dining experience. They are proud to serve fresh ,high quality Italian food.
You can find several of these fabulous eateries dotted around, there is one on sand lake road, several along the US 192 and also on international drive. Olive Garden is now the leading Italian restaurant in the casual dining field.
They have a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are extremely efficient and friendly. A bar area is available for you to have a relaxing drink while you wait until your table becomes available and you can peruse the menu in comfort, working your way through the delights on offer. From tempting appetizers, soups and salads pizzas, classic Italian recipes, then there is the grill or if you prefer filled pastas and a variety of chicken dishes and then there are the fish and seafood dishes to choose from.
The menu is extensive and it is hard deciding which to choose as it all sounds so tempting, all pizza , lunch and dinner entrees include freshly baked breadsticks and your choice of homemade soup or garden-fresh salad.
We chose the bruschetta to start and it was gorgeous, For main course I can recommend the chicken marsala (sautéed chicken breasts in a savory sauce of mushrooms, garlic , and marsala wine , served with tuscan potatoes and bell peppers, absolutely delicious.
Also recommended is the stuffed chicken marsala which is oven roasted chicken breast stuffed with Italian cheeses and sun dried tomatoes, topped with mushrooms and a creamy marsala sauce with garlic parmesan mashed potatoes.
If you have any room left there are some really tempting deserts to choose from Tiramisu is my personal favourite but they all sound scrummy. There is also a very extensive wine list to choose from , we like red and went for the Barolo which was lovely although a little pricey but it was well worth it.
The olive garden also offer a to go service and if you call up beforehand they will have your order hot and ready for you to take home and enjoy.
We will return without a doubt and you should certainly give it a try.
