The Wine Room at Park Avenue
There are a number of excellent wineries dotted around Central Florida most notably San Sebastian in St Augustine and Lakeridge in the rolling hills just outside Clermont near Orlando.
However, in Winter Garden there is something very different to get excited about at the Wine Room on Park Avenue.
Winter Garden is situated north of Orlando and directions to the Wine Room are fairly easy. Leave the I4 at the junction with US426 and travel east along West Fairbanks Avenue and then left on to South Park Avenue. The Wine Room can then be found at the intersection with West New England Avenue and ample parking is available either on the streets, on surface car parks or in the multi-story car park nearby.
The Wine Room on Park Avenue’s claim to fame is that it is the only establishment in Central Florida to offer the exclusive state of the art Enomatic wine serving system.
This system apparently preserves the colour, taste and aroma of the wine by using nitrogen gas rather than compressed air during the dispensing process.
The visitor is able to sample over one hundred and fifty different wines at the push of a button with the Enomatic system providing a range of measures between one and five fluid ounces.
However, if your preference is for something a little more conventional the Wine Room has an inventory of over two thousand bottles, all carefully selected from the major wine growing regions of the world to make your sampling experience something special.
As well as the home-grown Californian Cabernets from Napa Valley and the Oregon Pinot Noirs there are some wonderful Australian Shirazes and German Rieslings. Full-bodied red wines are represented by vintages from the Burgundy region in France, you will also find fruity Riojas from Spain to excite your taste buds.
To ensure you are completely happy with your purchase there are a number of qualified wine experts on hand to offer advice and guidance.
However, if you simply want to buy off the shelf, The Wine Room has put together a carefully selected range of wines and complimentary cheeses from around the world and packaged them as a lovely gift item.
It is easy to enjoy a couple of hours just browsing and wine tasting and the customer service is excellent. Please remember to act responsibly though and ensure that at least one member of your party doesn’t consume any alcohol.
Otherwise it could mean a very expensive taxi ride home.
