Typhoon Lagoon Refurbished part 6
It was the afternoon of our visit to the newly refurbished Typhoon Lagoon and having had already had lunch and a ride on Gang Plank Falls my parents had gone for a drink whilst the rest of us decided to go on some more of the rides.
Although you are given a map when you enter the Park but the there are many signs all over the Park so most rides are very easy to find.
First we went to Keelhaul Falls which is a single seater ride suitable for all ages where you sit on an inner tube and glide down the Fall, unfortunately for my brother he made a very quick descent into the water and got soaked!
On our way around the Park we stopped and watched the riders at the bottom of Humunga Kowabunga. This looks a very scary ride with none of our party brave enough to go on it. It consists of enclosed body slides that you lie down in while you descend five stories, not for the faint hearted and not for us that day.
Instead we went to Crush ‘n Gusher where up to three people can ride together as you descend backwards down the Fall. This is good fun but there is a height restriction of 48 inches.
My Parents had then joined us and we went onto what is our favourite although not so mild ride Mayday Falls. I am not sure if there is a height restriction here although I think there maybe as I did not see any smaller children on the rides. Again this is a single rider where you rush through rapids on an inner tube, great fun and everyone seemed to get tossed into the water at the end.
We were now all thoroughly soaked so we decided to wander round the Park to the “Lets Go Slurping Bar” to enjoy a drink while we dried out. There is quite a lot of seating around the bar area itself but it was quite busy when we first arrived so we took our drinks to some vacant seats nearby.
There is a good selection of drinks on offer from “Surf Side Specials” that include “Poolside Lemonade”; this I can really recommend it comprises two types of Bacardi Rum, Sprite and Grenadine. There are also Margaritas, Mango Punch as well as Captain Mai Tai. The latter is made up of Rums, Amaretto and fruit juices. You can buy Frozen Cocktails as well as beers here. It is a good place to end your visit.
We then wandered back to collect our things just as the Waves started at Blustery Bay and the girls had one last soaking.
