Universal Studios Tips for your day
A few tips for enjoying your day. We had a great time at Universal studios, parking (February 2010) was $14 and you parked in a multi story car park which was quite near to the parks and had “travelators” to speed up your journey there. We had not been to Universal Studios for about 8 years and had a set of very old tickets. We headed over to guest relations, where a very helpful lady tried to sort out our tickets. It look a few moments for the lady to locate the bar code of our tickets on her computer system, but once she had done this, she was able to re-print them and issue us with new ones at no extra charge. We were delighted to find that the tickets were actually valid for two days and not one day, and they can be used in either park.
We also explained that our daughter is disabled and if the park were busy, she would find it hard waiting in line for the rides. No problem, we were given a special pass, so that one of us could wait with her in a “family room” whilst the other members of our group queued for the ride, when they reached the front we were called to join them. Our daughter remained calm throughout the day, which only added to our enjoyment and reduced the stress that we have come to accept as part of life. If anyone else reading this has a child with Special needs, it is well worth asking for assistance. Like most parents, we don’t like to make a fuss, but sometimes for the good of everyone, it is worth using these extra facilities.
A lot of the park had changed sine we were last there, but we still enjoyed the old favorite of ET. We waited sometime for Shrek 4D and although I would like to say the wait was worth it, I must be honest and say I was a little disappointed. The Jimmy Neutrons ride was my daughters favorite and we had to go on this one twice! The wait for The Simpsons Ride was 50 minutes, but well worth it, a fantastic light hearted simulator ride. A note for you taller chaps, don’t sit in the back, every time the ride jerked, my husband banged his head and neck on the roof of the “car”, much better to be in the front.
Lastly, if you want to ride the new “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit” check out the weather foecast, the ride is stopped for safety reasons if it is breezy, we missed it because of the weather, still it gives us a reason to go back again!
