What’s so great about Epcot 10
In all the previous Epcot articles we have explore the Future World area fully and now it’s time to move on to what is without doubt my favourite area of Epcot the world Show Case, the world show case is a display of a number of countries from around the world to give travellers that have never travelled abroad an idea of their cultures etc.
For the many of us that have travelled the world they do appear to show the traditions and cultures of each country, as with all things Disney it is done in a sympathetic way and is a great deal of fun, most of the countries you will visits have some where to eat where you can taste the foods that are typically served in that country for instance in France you have the French cuisine and, in Germany you have the Wurst or Sausages, and in Britain you have the good old fish and chips but more about that later.
Now for some reason that I cannot explain every time we visit the world show case we always walk round it in a clockwise direction which mean that’s you will visit Mexico which I think is one of the best countries in the world show case.
I think that the Mexico area really has a great feeling especially if you visit it at night, outside it looks as if you have approach an ancient temple, you enter through the doorway and there is a number of exhibitions of Mexican Oaxacan woodcarving, these are very colourful woodcarvings which are handmade from a copal tree.
The Oaxacan wood carvers believe that when they carve a figure they unleash the spirit of each being from the piece of wood the display is very interesting with some fantastic figures that they can carve.
Once inside you enter a dark covered court yard, it is like entering a night time version of Mexico, there are a number of market trader type stalls in the courtyard and also there is a river that offers a boat ride that displays some of the tourist areas of Mexico along with the music and culture.
The boat ride is a great way to get a rest from walking around all day long and for those of you wanting to taste the foods of Mexico there are a number of places to eat, you can dine at the waterfront in the La Hacienda de San Angel, this is a restaurant that offers table service and really does offer a great atmosphere.
