What to do at City Walk
City Walk at Universal is a fabulous place to do some shopping and having older teenagers we often find that they want to spend more time in the parks than us, so while they’re getting their fix of the high speed roller coasters, shows and attractions in Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios we opt for a leisurely stroll around City Walk.
There is a great Fossil store with a good range of clothes, watches and sunglasses – we never seem to manage to get out of here without spending some $$’s
The Universal Studio store always has some great toys and souvenirs to take back home and I always seem to end up buying a cuddly toy or two to take home for my little niece and nephews!
My hubby can’t leave without a trip into the cigarz shop. . . . well they’re sooooo much cheaper than at home! !
We always seem to have to have a least one visit to Cinnabon, their delicious cinnamon flavoured buns are so scrumptious with a great big cup of coffee.
You can even take home a permanent souvenir in the form of a tattoo from the Hart and Huntingdon Tattoo company! Or for a less permanent souvenir they have a great range of clothing and accessories.
If you’ve had your fill of shopping you can also board one of the boats that pull up between the two theme parks and take a leisurely ride round to one of the Universal Hotels, there are some great bars, cafes and restaurants in the hotels and you don’t have to be staying in the hotels to visit them. One of our favourites is the legendary Palm Restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel.
We usually arrange to meet up with our teens at the bar just outside Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville or if we are all staying for dinner then we decide where we want to eat and arrange to meet outside the restaurant, the kids particularly like The Hard Rock Café.
If you’re a movie buff then there is also the fabulous AMC Universal Cineplex with 20 theatres featuring wall to wall screens plus you get to see the latest releases before they premier in the UK and all from the comfort of high backed rocker chairs.
One other little tip we have found useful is to use the valet parking, if you’re all tired at the end of the day that walk back to the car park seems to go on forever and after all you are on holiday!
