Why are the villas all different prices?
All the villas are owned by private owners not by Orlando Villas and they will all have different standards. Some are very, very luxurious with furniture that has cost a great deal of money they will have top of the range utensils, bedding and towels and very well equipped kitchens. These owners will discard and replace any towels or lines that are slightly worn or stained, the cheaper villa owners will not. The quality of bedding, towels and kitchen-ware can vary from cheap Walmart types and in the dearer villas all these will be much higher quality from more upmarket stores. This is why in pictures they can look just as good, but you cannot see quality you can only experience it. Sheets for example range from 200 thread count (very thin) up to 800 top quality thread count. Towels can be very thin and flat or thick, fluffy and soft. Cutlery can be made of tin or stainless steel and pots and pans can be very cheap in price and quality or very expensive and top quality.
Some have games rooms, some don’t. Some have free telephone calls. Some have televisions in all bedrooms and some have upgraded television packages which cost the owner a lot to run. Some have large libraries of DVDs and books, all of which have to be paid for and kept up to date. Some have to pay 11% sales and tourist tax some have to pay as much as 13%. This depends on which county the villa is located in. The cheaper villas will be much more basic with basic linens and towels and just the essential cookware and utensils. They also may not have televisions in all rooms and no DVD player or DVDs. Basic television packages do not have many channels. The same applies to pool heat. Some are heated by electricity and some by gas and the prices are quite different. The management companies that look after the villas for the owners all charge different amounts so this will have to be factored in to the price. The dearer villas will have owners who have a contingency fund built into their prices to cover emergencies such as the air conditioning breaking down or the pool pump needing to be replaced or washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers that will eventually need renewing, plus many other problems that can occur. To try and run a villa without any back-up money in case of breakdowns means owners have to find the money for repairs out of their own pockets.
What it boils down to is you would not expect to stay at a top class hotel in the UK and pay Travel Lodge prices.
