Why I love Orlando
It is easy to answer that with two words. Theme Parks. But, Orlando has so much more. True it doesn’t have beaches, but if you just want to lie on beach all day and party all night, then you would go to Europe and save a fortune on air fares and car hire, a simple package to Spain would give you all that.
Why I love Orlando is that it is perfect for so many people. The families with small children, the families with all ranges from one to ninety (two or three generations often all go together), couples, groups of friends and groups with children.
Everybody can find something they want to do and often parties split up and go to different attractions and then meet up again in the evenings. Apart from theme parks of course there are so many other things to do.
Winter Garden is like an English country town. There are pleasant walks, pavement cafés and small shops to see. There is also a lake to sit by or to walk round. Winter garden is only about a thirty minute drive from Disney.
On Highway 192 going towards the Highway 27 intersection is a town called Celebration. Here you can stroll through the main street looking at small shops and cafes or sit in a rocking chair by the lake. It is the cleanest, neatest place in Orlando. It was the brain child of Walt Disney and is Walt Disneys idea of the perfect suburb without a blade of grass out of place. They have a school, hospital and communal swimming pools and sports facilities all for the residents only to use. During the Christmas period it snows at 6pm and 8pm every night until New Years Eve. Most residents even have battery operated cars in which they get around – they are bit like English milk floats but much neater!
In Orlando itself, there are so many other things to do apart from visit theme parks too. There are so many novelty golf courses that it is hard to choose which one to try – so why not try them all, they all have different themes. Go karting is available, golf, horse riding, hot air balloon trips, helicopter trips, air boat rides, fishing, picnic areas, national parks, swimming with dolphins, cinemas, museums and never forget the shopping! The choice and prices will blow your mind.
These are just a few of the reasons why I love Orlando and why I will keep going back year after year.
