For the avid golfer, Rotonda West offers five challenging golf courses, with another, the Pine Valley course, under construction, due for completion in 2008. There are many other pristine courses within a 30 minute drive of Rotonda West which also offer both a challenging & enjoyable round of golf.
Golf carts are generally obligatory at all clubs on Rotonda West.
Most clubs will offer discount, if asked and especially if you are planning on playing more than once during your stay.
Club hire is readily available but there are some great deals to be had on golf equipment in both Port Charlotte and Sarasota.
Rotonda Golf & Country Club (Three Courses)

This club is made up of The Links, The Palms and The Hills and has 54 holes of golf and is the oldest on Rotonda. It has excellent practice facilities, three clubhouses, with fine dining and casual grill rooms. It is approximately 5/10 minutes drive of our home. Reservations are recommended for dinner, especially December through to May.
Long Marsh Golf Club

Long Marsh Golf Club which is part of the Lemon Bay was designed by architect Ted McAnlis.
The eighteen hole course is approximately 300 acres with a rolling terrain, which hints at a links-type layout. The fairways are generous and the greens putt fairly fast but true, depending on the golfer, of course. This is where my husband tends to play and it is located about 5 minutes drive from our home.
The Pinemoor West Golf Club is also affiliated to Long Marsh and is a 9 hole course. It is one of the newer courses on Rotonda West opened in late 2004.

Lemon Bay Golf Club

This is a par 71, 18 hole course and is certified by the Audubon Society. It is a private course but is open to the public from May to September. Set within a wildlife preserve
on Lemon Bay it is about 10 minutes from our home.
