So all you Parrot heads out there what are you waiting for stop “wasting away again” after all “it is 5 o’ clock somewhere”!
Our most recent visit to Universal Studios City Walk one evening around 5 ; +) resulted in us dining in Jimmy Buffets restaurant Margaretville. We had dined in the one in Key West in the past so thought why not try the “local” branch. This is an enormously popular place to eat and drink and gets very very busy at times. We decided to try and dine on the porch and were pleasantly surprised when there were only a couple of people in the queue in front of us.
So we had the obligatory pictures taken in the 5 o’clock somewhere chair while we waited and before we knew it our server was placing the menus in front of us. The cocktail menu looked yummy and I picked a creamy one with bananas and pineapple, the rest of the group had Bud, coke and a Berry flavored cocktail, all were happy with their choices when they arrived except maybe the designated driver, who was promised a night off driving duties next time we came! The cocktails we choose to have served in the take home glasses well we all have one of those somewhere in the cupboard from our travels I am sure!
The service was good and pretty quick as it was still busy and the queue to come in had lengthened quite a bit since we were shown in. There were 4 of us and we choose between us:
Jerk Chicken, Jimmy’s jamming Jambalaya (reminded me of Key West), Fish of the day and a Sirloin and shrimp Combo. There were no complaints from anyone and empty plates all round. Instead of dessert we opted for more cocktails are they were rich and creamy. The server commented that I was drinking the best one of the menu it certainly tasted that way to me.
The bill was average for this sort of establishment and we left saying we would definitely visit again.
There is also a fun gift shop, where you can purchase all the fun bits and pieces. We left with T shirts, coasters, beer mugs, magnets and Key rings between the four of us, unfortunately for us the store must have seen the Jimmy Buffet fans heading in and were stocking up the shelves as we arrived!Page added on: 06 August 2007
