Salsa Taqueria & Tequila Bar offers casual but exciting Mexican dining at it’s best. We have visited several times and have enjoyed each visit whether we have just sat up the bar enjoying a Corona or two with lime or sat down to lunch and sampled some of their wonderful foods.
The staff are really friendly and attentive and the atmosphere electric. The décor is well designed, while the Mexican music sets the scene.
Their authentic menu is varied and vast, there is so much to choose from you don’t really know where to start, the complimentary large bowl of handmade chips with guacamole and salsa does get your taste buds going, and you are ready for more….
Handmade delectable tostadas, tacos, tamales, rellenos all made with fire roasted meats, grilled vegetables and the freshest seafood all adorn their menu, all prepared in the open kitchen. One of their popular dishes the taco sampler is a favourite of my husbands and is a platter of all six featured tacos including roasted pork with pineapple and sweet onions, light citrus marinated chicken, marinated beef, grouper with fruity pico de gallo & slaw and roasted mushrooms with poblano peppers with queso fresco all served with freshly handmade soft tortillas and topped with the most delectable salsa and black beans. Such unusual flavours all married together but work wonderfully.
Me on the other hand went for the popular fajitas with marinated chicken and I have to say I was not disappointed at all, in fact I will certainly return for more, so tasty served on a sizzler with freshly handmade tortillas and guacamole and soured cream …..needless to say that they didn’t last long.
Washed down with Mexican beer it was a memorable meal. They do delectable sweets but you have to save some room, which is hard with so many wonderful dishes in front of you.
Salsa also cater for private parties of up to 300 people and have a private dining room, a great place if you have a celebration and a lot of friends.
They feature more than fifty Mexican tequilas and mescals…..not to be sampled all at one time, but a great excuse for repeat visits. Some great cocktails, wide selection of wines and fresh juice cocktails made with mango, passion fruit, cactus and watermelon.
So on your next visit to the mall why not give it a try……
