Carrabba's for Italian food
Carrabba's
Like Italian Food? Well if you are like me and need a pasta fix sometime during your vacation, Carrabba' s is the place to go. We heard about this restaurant from others so decided to give it a try ourselves. When we arrived for our first visit, the restaurant was crowded and we would have had to wait approximately 45 minutes to be seated. However, if we chose to sit outside, we could be seated immediately. As we were all starving after our long day at the parks, we chose to eat outside. Great choice for us. There were seven of us, 4 adults and 3 children. The night was a little chilly but that was no problem because they had heaters placed high on the walls surrounding the outside covered dining area. We were toasty and warm.
While we were looking over the menu, our waitress brought us some freshly baked warm bread along with a dish containing mixed spices and olive oil for dipping (I could fill up just on that). We couldn’t decide which soup to have, the Mama Mandola’s Chicken Noodle Soup, the minestrone or the sausage lentil soup. Our waitress made it simple for us; she brought out sample bowls of each soup so we could sample and then choose (we all chose the sausage and lentil; a little spicy but delicious). Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. Everything on the menu looked so good it was hard to decide. The two adult females went with the Chicken Trio which consists of three chicken cutlets done 3 different and came with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable of the day. HmmHmm.
The two male adults went with the centre cut tenderloin and both decided they were some of the best steaks they have eaten (and they have eaten a lot). The children chose from the children’s menu and tried the spaghetti and meatballs which they declared were awesome. Even though we were full and had to get doggie bags, we ordered the dessert and chose the Bacino which consists of 3 mini desserts : Dessert Rosa, Chocolate Coconut Mousse and Seasonal Bacino. My daughter ordered the tiramisu and said it was delicious.
Specials are posted each night and wine is $10. 00 off per bottle on “Wine Wednesdays”. . They have a gluten free menu and a children’s menu for children under 10. We found the restaurant to be family oriented and prices are affordable and portions are extremely generous.
On our second visit we sat inside where we could see the kitchen and all the activity going on and also watch pizzas being cooked in the wood burning oven.
They have the greatest take out system. One night we were not up to going out to eat, so just telephoned with our order. When my husband went to pick up the order he did not even have to get out of the car; they brought the order out to the car for you. They just asked us what kind of car we were driving when we placed the order. The Carrabba' s we visited is located on Irlo Bronson Hwy in Kissismmee and was very near our villa. There are several locations throughout Florida. Hours are Mon – Thur 4:00 pm – 10:00pm and Fri – Sun 4:00pm – 11:00pm.
I now can`t wait to get back for my next visit and my stop at Carrabbas. I can taste that bread now.
