Chuy's Mexican Restaurant - Kissimmee
Arriving for our holiday as we joined the 192 to get to our villa there was a very bright restaurant surrounded by lots of lights. None of us had heard of Chuy’s before but understood from the front of the building it was a Mexican Restaurant. Although we are not the biggest fans of Mexican food probably because we rarely try it in the UK as this restaurant is only a couple of miles from our villa we decided it was a 'Must Do' for this holiday.
It was a busy time, this was about 8pm, and a lot of people were stopping to eat on their way from the Parks, we usually opt to eat at the bar so we avoided the queue waiting to be seated and headed for the bar. There were not any vacant seats at the bar but the area surrounding it had plenty of booths and high tables and chairs and we soon found out that this area was for self-seating so we found ourselves a booth. This whole bar area was very popular there were two parties of twenty - the adults just pushed the high tables and chairs together where the adults sat whilst the children could all sit together in booths.
As soon as we were seated we were approached for our drinks order and a dish of tortilla chips and salsa were put on our table and when the bill came these were not charged for. I must admit we were all a bit puzzled about the menu not being familiar with this type of food and it is the first time I have ever seen my Father not sure of himself in a restaurant! However after looking around at what was being served at other tables we made our choices. Mother opted safely for a Chuy’s Lite Plate which was quite small but included her favourite, ground sirloin taco (crispy); guacamole and chile con gueso sauce that was quite spicy but very good. My Father had, and thoroughly enjoyed, a Baja Tacos with fried shrimp; red cabbage and jalapenos and this was accompanied by rice. I chose a Classic Tex Mex Enchiladas which had cheese and onion and Tex Mex sauce.
We all really enjoyed our meals and neither the food or drinks were really expensive. In addition to the bar area there is a large indoor seating area as well as plenty of seating outside. We will certainly go back.
