Ellies first visit to Florida, day 1
Saturday 21. 4. 07
Wahoo! We arrived at Manchester Airport mum, dad, my sister Chloe, Uncle Mark and Auntie Jan and me, Eloise. We were all ready to set off to America.
First we had to check in and then we went to a special lounge called “Escape” where we could have our own space to chill out and help ourselves to food and drink! ! It was fun because we had never been in one of these before. We took some photos then after a while our flight was ready and we all set off to arrive on our Jumbo Jet. When we got there we found out that we were flying on the top floor in Virgin Premium Economy!
The flight to America was 8 and a half hours and during that time we were able to watch our own personal movies and we were also able to play games. We enjoyed the food and the space and also the chatting with everybody. I had taken my Shaun the Sheep with me and the pilot took some photos of Shaun flying the plane and looking out of the window with the pilot hat on.
We arrived at Orlando airport at 5. 30pm, local time, (10. 30pm British time! ! ). Going through the Airport Security was great fun, mum and dad had their photos taken, good job they weren’t wanted! ! It seemed like ages waiting for our luggage, but it soon arrived. We then had to give our luggage back to the security people as we had to get to the other side of the airport. The monorail ride was AWESOME. When we got to the other side, mum, Jan, Chloe and me collected the luggage while Mark and dad went to collect the cars. What an experience, driving on the opposite side of the road, turning right on red lights, oh heck. Oh and car of course! ! We hired a big car with bench seats and loads of room for luggage.
We stopped at a small place called Celebration, it looked like a film set, with white houses with small white fences around them. They were really quaint. Each one seemed to be different to next door.
We were staying at a local hotel, as the villa wasn’t ready until 5 o’clock that evening, it was huge, but we were too tired to go for dinner, so we had room service, Chloe had already fallen asleep by the time it arrived, I was just about awake! !
