Logan' Roadhouse
For a great family meal, with a ‘Western’ atmosphere and with something to please everyone Logan’s Roadhouse on Hwg 192 is a restaurant that is always our first port of call when we arrive on vacation in Florida.
The first thing you will see as you walk in is peanuts – everywhere! There is an enormous barrel in the entrance and a smaller bucket on every table brimming full, and you are invited to help yourselves and to throw the shells on the floor – our 4 year old thought he had gone to heaven and had great fun.
There is a long bar where you can have an aperitif while you wait for your table with an enormous selection of drinks and cocktails.
The restaurant specialises is steak cooked to order. There is a refrigerated display of every cut imaginable, not forgetting ribs, chicken and seafood as well – you can even choose which steak you would like.
A visit wouldn’t be complete without one of Logan’s own Roadhouse iced teas, a great refreshing cocktail with a definite kick. There is also a large selection of different cocktails, beer, wine, spirits and of course soft drinks.
As part of the meal you are brought some gorgeous hot yeast bread, freshly cooked as you wait – careful you don’t burn your fingers! For a starter our whole family love the Roadhouse mushrooms, a meal almost on their own, and absolutely gorgeous with a horseradish dip while you wait for the main course.
There is a great selection for the main course, and although the speciality is steak (which is usually cooked to perfection) there is also a good selection of chicken, mouthwatering ribs(to die for) and seafood dishes, as well as various combos so you can have the best of both worlds all served with a choice of fries, mash or baked potato and accompanied by a choice of dinner salad, including garden, Italian and Caesar – the Caesar is the best I have tasted.
The children’s menu offers burgers, hot dog, chicken and macaroni cheese among the choices, and the children’s menu doubles as a colouring/quiz sheet to keep them amused.
If you can manage it (and we never have) there is also a wonderful selection of desserts.
The servers are great and always seem happy and can’t do enough to help which adds to the whole Logan’s experience.
All in all for a wonderful family meal in a great atmosphere Logan’s gets our vote every time, and don’t forget between 6 and 9pm weekdays is happy hour!
