Wantilan Luau Buffet and Entertainment
Fancy taking part in an authentic evening of Polynesian food and entertainment at the Wantilan Luau? This weekly dinner show is held every Friday and Saturday night from May through to September at the outdoor pavilion at the Royal Pacific Resort, a Loews Hotel at Universal Orlando, Florida. It’s a wonderful and entertaining evening for all the family!
With an all you can eat buffet of specially prepared Polynesian food, live Hawaiian music and extraordinary hip gyrations of beautiful hula dancers, it is an enjoyable and pleasurable evening out. Don’t be surprised if you’re lured on to stage by the entrancing Hawaiian lady dancers.
When you arrive to the outdoor pavilion, you’ll feel transported to the islands as lovely hula girls greet you and place leis around your neck. The extensive buffet includes an array of tropical fruits, mixed native greens and hearts of palm, citrus ahi tuna poke salad with ginger soy vinaigrette, Lomi Lomi chicken salad and so much more. The main dishes include pit roasted suckling pig spiced with a rum soaked pineapple dressing. Catch of the Day or teriyaki chicken breast for the diet conscious are also provided as choices. Soy marinated beef steak is delicious and served sliced.
Save room for dessert though. A white chocolate macadamia nut pie, tropical fruit cake and banana cake are on offer. This excellent buffet also offers wine, beer and non alcoholic beverages with the meal. You also have the choice of enjoy the tasty Mai Tais on offer.
The luau offers a separate ‘kid’s buffet’ line featuring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and pizza.
While you’re serving yourself at the buffet, the conk shell blows and real native dancers take to the stage welcoming you to their islands. Rapid hip movements of the Tahitian hula to the romantic hand gestures of the Hawaiian hula start off the entertainment. The costumes are colourful and polished coconut shells serve as bikini tops. A tattooed Samoan warrior performs a foot stomping war dance and concludes the performance with the Samoan fire dance. There’s always a chance you can be invited up on stage so be prepared to take part in the entertainment.
This is a great family evening of superb food and entertainment, and you don’t have to be a Royal Pacific Resort guest to experience the Luau. Reservations are required and seating starts at 6:00 p.m. so get there early to get the best seating. For reservations call 407-503-3463.
