BANDS BREW and BBQ at SEAWORLD part 1
My parents have 2 year passes to Seaworld which they find extremely good value as it includes free parking. They also receive regular emails telling them of any new promotions offers or events. It was in one of these emails shortly before we were due to go to our villa in March that they saw details of the Bands Brew and BBQ event which was taking place over four weekends.
On one of the Sundays that we were due to be in Orlando Kenny Rogers was to appear so they booked tickets online and I joined them although I must admit had not really heard much of his music.
You needed separate tickets in addition to park entry tickets (once more really good value for them with their passes) and the ticket they opted for was $45 and included VIP seating at the event as well as a BBQ meal and soft drink.
When we approached the park we were surprised how busy it was and for the first time had to park across the road and use the tram to get to the entrance. When we walked from the tram the kerbside on the outside was crammed with lorries with generators obviously generating the power for the very large amounts of food being cooked in the park, the smell was delicious.
Once in the park we had to go to the information desk and exchange our online confirmation letter for our badges.
As we entered the event area there was a stunning display of Harely Davidson bikes which attracted large crowds. The only people allowed to sit on them were staff members but they provided great photo opportunities for many families.
On our left we then saw lots of side stalls were children for an extra charge could try their luck to win a variety of toys.
When my parents bought the tickets they had not opted to include the Brew Sampler but when we saw what was on offer we decided to buy a couple at $25 each to share between us. We were given 2 of these to wear around our necks and each time we had a sample drink a punch hole was out in one of them. For $25 we could have 12 sample drinks from a choice of 50 different ones.
We were amazed at the crowds as we entered the Bands Beer and BBQ section of the park and decided first to head for the beer garden for refreshment.
More of our visit in Part 2.
