Breakfast at Celebration
Celebration is only three miles from our villa so we often go there to enjoy the tranquillity and get away from the hustle and bustle of Orlando and the theme parks. It is rarely busy unless they host special events and then it draws quite a crowd.
On a slow drive down we look at the lovely houses and even sometimes take a detour down some of the roads to see their decorations. These are particularly good especially at Christmas we have even seen a complete house packed up like a huge red parcel and another with 8 ft soldiers painted in gold either side of the entrance gates.
It is better to turn off before you come to the Main Street as it is much easier to park in the side roads. Be careful to park facing the correct way and make sure you do not park outside the lines as there can be a charge imposed on you if you do.
Last time we went to Celebration we went to Market Street Café for breakfast. It is right at the front in fact its address is Front Street! This restaurant is open 8. 00am to 10. 00pm all year round. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and in quieter periods you get a choice of booth bar or table seating. There is also outdoor seating. When we eat as a family we usually ask for a table this gives us more space.
The Market Street café prides itself on “being an upscale diner” and it really does have a great variety of food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
It is famous for its omelettes and my Father had his favourite Baked Potato Omelette which is topped with cheddar and jack cheeses as well as sour cream and green onions and is accompanied by home fries. All omelettes come with white wheat or rye toast.
There are many other omelettes to choose from here including Healthy Choice, American, Market Street and Swiss.
They also do a very good Eggs Benedict which my Mother had choosing the Spinach one. This comprised two eggs poached on a toasted muffin with hollandaise sauce and a side of spinach.
The girls wanted their beloved pancakes they shared a full stack (two pancakes) with Maple Syrup and Maple Butter. I opted for a Smoked Salmon Bagel which also has onions and capers on; we all agreed the food was very good.
We had a stroll around the lake after breakfast and then spent about half an hour enjoying the sun in the rocking chairs by the side of the lake.
