Cumbrian Lakes - a true community!
When we were looking to buy a holiday rental home in Florida, we looked at lots of different homes in locations across the state. As we drove into the beautifully cared for Cumbrian Lakes, we knew our search was over. This community had everything we wished for, and we knew our guests would feel the same.
Set among acres of green conservation land, and built on three stunning lakes, home to a variety of birds, turtles and other local wildlife, Cumbrian Lakes really is an idyllic setting. We consistently find it hard to believe we are only minutes away from 192, with its shops, restaurants and all sorts of activities, and only nine miles from DisneyWorld itself!
The community is actually located off the Poinciana Boulevard, south of 192. Access to I4 couldn't be easier, nor could finding Cumbrian Lakes from Orlando International Airport, or from the Florida Turnpike, when coming from the direction of Miami.
The community has the perfect blend of long-term residents, holiday home owners and their guests, meaning everyone in the community is committed to making it as special as they possibly can. Most of the members of the HOA board actually live at Cumbrian Lakes, meaning they are constantly on top of maintenance and improvements, and helping to upkeep the family atmosphere that is so evident. There is a playground for the children and even a regular Sunday morning gathering of families from the community who come together for a friendly game of football (soccer). The homes are beautifully maintained, as are the gardens, planted areas and even the public areas in between. Traffic is minimal and speed restrictions ensure this family-friendly community is a perfectly safe place to be.
To find Cumbrian Lakes from Orlando International Airport, simply head south on the 417, and immediately after the second toll booth, take exit 6 onto International Drive. Stay in the left-hand lane until you turn left onto 535 south. Then move into the right-hand lane and take a right into Poinciana Boulevard. After about three miles on this road you will start to pass a group of sub-divisions on your left-hand side and you will come to Cumbrian Lakes.
To find the Disney theme parks from Cumbrian Lakes, simply turn right onto Poinciana Boulevard and follow this for about two miles until you come to 192. Here, take a left turn and Disney is well sign-posted all the way.
We hope you one day get to stay at Cumbrian Lakes and discover for yourselves why we felt this was the perfect spot for our dream holiday home in the sun.
