Disney Speciality Cruises
You can go on a specialty cruise at various locations around Disney. These may be booked up to 90 days in advance. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy and a credit card is required to book them. The boats can usually accommodate up to 12 guests (10 adults and 2 children) or 10 adults. The resorts participating are: Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, and Yacht and Beach Clubs.
Specialty cruises are also usually available from the Downtown Disney Marketplace. The hours for these vary, a standard trip lasts approx 50 minutes. Prices vary depending on the party size, food, and decorations.
VIP Cruises are available on the Grand1, a 45-foot Sea Ray 450 Express Bridge yacht, offering private dining, butler service, and a captain. Cruises are for 1-13 people, starting at $375. 58 per hour, with a one-hour minimum. Here there is a 24-hour cancellation notice requirement or you will be charged.
Firework Cruises for IllumiNations and Wishes are offered through Disney' s Yacht Club Marina and the Magic Kingdom resort marinas. To book a fireworks cruise, call (407) WDW-PLAY/(407) 939-7529.
You can also book a Birthday/Celebration Cruise; this is a slightly different cruise than the Fireworks cruises mentioned above. On these you cruise for an hour on the lake and enjoy VIP fireworks viewing. Price: $211. 26 for 21' Pontoon or $258. 21 for the 25' Pontoon with Audio ($220 or $275 with tax). These depart 30 minutes prior to IllumiNations at Epcot or 30 minutes prior to Wishes at the Magic Kingdom. These are really a good way to celebrate a birthday and I believe you also get a birthday cake!
The Bayside Marina near the Yacht Club offers a great cruise Albatross Treasure Cruise for children ages 4-10. Children will wear bandannas as they follow clues and sail to many exotic ' ports of call' around Crescent Lake and Epcot looking for treasure. During the voyage, children will hear a reading of ' The Legend of the Albatross. ' At the final port of call, children will have lunch of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cookie, and juice box, and will split up the ' buried treasure. ' Held Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30 - 11:30 a. m. Price is $30 plus tax per child. Reservations are strongly recommended. Not only do children enjoy this but it is a chance for their parents to sit back and relax for a couple of hours whilst the children are away.
Another children’s cruise can be taken at Port Orleans Riverside, the Sassagoula River Adventure Cruise. Children travel along the Sassagoula River to learn the ' Jester' s' way of life. Along the way they explore the Sassagoula River and finally meet the character known as the Jester. The cruise is held Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a. m. - 1:30 p. m. for children ages 4-12. Cost is $28. 17 plus tax per child.
Finally if you just want a short cruise why not try a Breathless day cruise from Disney' s Yacht and Beach Club Resort Marina. These are excursions for up to 7 guests, and depart the marina daily 2:30pm - 5:50pm.
