Florida Trip 2017 Day 8
The previous day had been a long one shopping at the Florida Mall and then more at Buena Vista and finished off by more shopping and the cruise at Old Town, a very long day on our feet for most of the day so we had decided today would be a chill day of some kind.
So over breakfast, we discussed our options pool this morning, then IHOP for a light late lunch then Disney springs (old Downtown Disney renamed) for a bit of shopping and to see how it's changed and TGI Fridays on the way home, all sounded good so that what we agreed
Lots of pool and spa time and yet more sun, it still hadn’t rained at all, then everyone got ready and we got in the car and drove to a local IHop, the food in IHOP is great. I have a French toast with strawberry dish one of the staple dishes and unlimited filter coffee, Karlie had a load of pancakes which are ace at IHOP and Shirl and Will had a breakfast dish which combines a tradition breakfast dish and pancakes with fruit and syrup.
Next stop Disney springs this would be interesting last time I was there they were redeveloping Downtown Disney to be more family orientated and making it into a more shopping mall type venue a number of the old bars had been removed to enable this
I have to say they have done a really great job with the redevelopment and there is still a lot more going on but what they have done is really well done indeed, it is a very pleasant place to visit with some nice designer type shops along with lots of places to eat and still a number of nice bars to visit.
The Disney shop is still there but they're not as much Disney as in previous times as they are becoming more Commercial aware it’s a nice mix of shops etc. , we were a little early for food and so found a nice bar under the side of Planet Hollywood and chilled out sampling some of the local brews (it was happy hour) before setting off to TGI Fridays now called Fridays.
We arrived at Fridays and was surprised to find it not busy and got a table straight away, now Fridays is a favourite of both mine and Karlie’s we both love the food and the expertise but I have to say it wasn’t as good as it used to be service was pretty poor and the food was not as good as usual, and they had removed out favourite loaded nachos from the menu, but not to worry we still had Manny's Chop House on our list of restaurants to do
