Highlights of our Florida holidays.
A Florida holiday is always wonderful. Every minute filled with joy and pleasure. However, some moments stand out for us and for you also. I am sure. Of course, the first time is always dusted with a little extra magic; we were awe struck with the rides and the shows. And believe me, they were pretty tame then! When Universal opened, that was a whole new experience; the rides had new technology and the whole place had a certain brashness that appealed to the young teens. Next to pop into my mind was the first time we stayed for the closing Shamu Show; oh my goodness, how had we missed that before? We loved our first viewing of The Lion King show at Animal Kingdom; this is always on our must do list now. And also Soarin; so dramatic without shaking you to bits. I almost forgot one of more memorable evenings and that was the Halloween Horror Night at Universal; I had been told how good it was, but never dreamed of the effort they put into the ghost houses, show and over all experience (do not take young chioldren; Magic Kingdom is great for the little ones)
After a couple of holidays staying in hotels, we opted to stay in a home and what a revelation, The kids enjoyed having their own pool; we saved a fortune preparing a few meals in our new home and we ll enjoyed the facilities and space. I can tell you that we have never stayed in a hotel since.
We meant to go to Bok Gardens for years and never made it. Well when we did, we wished we had been before; the gardens are stunning, the tower is awesome and there is a historical house to explore as well. The cafe at Bok does pretty nice meals and they often hold special events. The first time we took all the children was pretty special; the older children took such delight in the excitement of the younger ones and it was a grat bonding experience for them.
I remember too our first buffet meal in Kissimmee; it felt like there was miles of choice and the young ones loved making their own selections. A jolly good tummy filler before a park visit as well.
I would like to proffer "Wishes" here; well worth the long wait as well. Just so many experiences to send you on your way home happy.
And finally, I must give a shout out for Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. They have got the theming spot on, the ride is sensational and there are so many innovative ideas all round this area.
