Magical Discovery Cove
When many people think of a Floridian holiday they think of the fantastic opportunity to swim with dolphins. A once in a life time experience to interact first hand with one of the most intelligent creatures on earth.
For us, this dream came true at Discovery Cove – the theme park which offers you and your family a more luxurious and intimate experience of marine and tropical life.
Discovery cove have limited places of just 1000 guests and you have to pre book your tickets. Because of this, the park is never crowded and you have the feeling that you are on a very quiet and exclusive tropical island. The landscaping is beautifully done and you cannot hear any noise from the outside world. You can fully immerse yourself in the experience.
As well as the chance to swim with the dolphins – and you don’t have to do that if you choose not to, you’ll also have chance to interact with fascinating rays, snorkel amid thousands of colorful fish, hand-feed exotic birds, explore lush greenery, and relax on pristine beaches.
From the moment you ‘check-in’ you’ll feel very looked after. The ratio of staff to guests is almost 1-1. You will be given a pass which allows you access to the whole park, as well to unlimited food, drinks and snacks. Everything is all- inclusive. Apart from a souvenir photo or a gift from the fabulous shops you won’t need to pay for anything at all. The quality of refreshments is outstanding. You will be given a choice of full wetsuit, or wetsuit jacket to wear when you are interacting with the marine life. At other times, such as swimming in the beautiful resort pool and waterfall, or going down the lazy river, you can just wear your usual swimwear.
Activity can be as exciting or relaxing as you choose. Apart from the dolphin experience, there is a wonderful lagoon full of tropical fish where you can snorkel and view the fish as if you were swimming in the sea. You will even encounter sharks, although they are cleverly behind glass but you may get a shock when you snorkel up to them for the first time!
The water is pretty cold but you quickly get used to it. You can also wade in the ray pool among simply huge rays – they can be a bit scary when you first see them! ! But they are very gentle and it is quite a moving experience to be so close to these majestic creatures.
Your day can be broken up with a relaxing read or nap on the pristine white sand, a quiet float down the lazy river or a visit to the wonderful aviary.
There is so much to discover at Discovery Cove and you will feel very special throughout your visit. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, you will have the most fantastic and intimate encounters with the fish and birds. Above all, you will have memories of a fantastic day with your family.
