Retail Therapy in Orlando
You will find Orlando is great for shopping. We usually take one suitcase each with us with an extra case flat-packed inside. Do not worry if you do not have a spare case because they are very cheap to buy in Orlando. However do not forget the excess baggage charges.
If you are looking for designer clothing there is a huge choice. At various locations you will find Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Guess, Hugo Boss, Versace, Georgio Armani and Timberland.
If you go to Premium Outlets you will find a wide variety of designers including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Timberland, Osh Kosh, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Nike and Reebok. You usually get good value for money and even more so at their sale times, after Christmas and after Thanksgiving. If you are shopping in Reebok for trainers or sports clothing, take a look in the many coupon books to be found in and around the Orlando area or even the local newspaper for a coupon they issue giving 10% or sometimes 15% off their products. In addition they have on trainers which are buy one pair get the second half price or buy 2 pairs get the third pair free. If you are over 50 they have a senior’s day discount on a Tuesday where you can receive another 10% off your purchases.
The Mall of Millennia is one of the newer additions for shoppers in Orlando. It is a very modern, upmarket Mall with 2 floors, a food court and some beautiful architecture. Most of the shops are aimed at the high income families. There is a Macy’s. Bloomingdales, Gucci, Cartier, & Co, Burberry and Jimmy Choo. Macy’s is where you will find the bargains, look for the additional discounts. If you are looking for that something special and cost isn' t really a problem then this is the place for you.
Marshalls & Ross Stores. You will see a lot of these stores around the area and they are always worth a visit. You can pick up named designer clothing at a fraction of the price. Be prepared to go through rails and rails of clothes, I always buy a few handbags at Ross for a fraction of the price I would pay at home. They usually have last season' s clothing but the price is always very good they have a large turnover of stock and it changes all the time.
The Florida Mall is probably the largest Mall in the area. There several department Stores including JC Penny, Sears, Dillard’s, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom . We find the best place for bargain clothing is Macy’s there almost always seems to be a sale going on in there. There are over 200 specialty shops along with several sports shops including Footlocker, Team Choice and Oakley. If you are hungry or just want a drink and a rest try their large food court.
Prime Outlets is the newest Factory Outlet Centre in Orlando and is on the site that used to be the old Belz Factory Outlets. This is very similar to Premium Outlets and although we have only visited once we found they had both a better selection and cheaper prices. This may be because they are new only time will tell.
Wherever you shop and whatever you buy in Florida I am sure you will enjoy your purchases.
