Shopping for a bargain in Kissimmee/Davenport

I would like to share with you my experiences of shopping in Kissimmee and Davenport. As you will know Orlando is famous for its shopping malls as well as the Theme parks, but when I have been to Orlando I found that its not just the malls that have bargains and sales.

The best places to pick up a real bargain are the Flea Markets. These are dotted around Kissimmee and Davenport, the main ones being located on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, or better known as Highway 192.

The 2 flea markets where I have been and bought items from are 1. The Maingate Flea Market, this is located just 2 miles east of the I4 on Highway 192, there are markers on Highway 192 and this place is located at mile marker 10 next to the big orange gift shop. This particular market has over 4,500 booths and is open from 10.00am till 8.00pm, everywhere is fully Air Conditioned and there are bargains galore to be bought.

These booths have virtually everything to offer and can save you 50-70% on Mall prices, ranging from Food courts, Tattoo studios, new age products, gifts, latest designer clothes, gift stores, boutiques, t-shirt/Disney souvenirs etc.

I have visited this particular flea market on numerous occasions and bought lots of items including, a digital camera, a digital video camcorder, Mickey Mouse telephone, a watch, t-shirts, beach towels, sports trainers and much more. I actually found after buying the camcorder that the exact same one was for sale at one of the malls for an extra $120.00, I was quite pleased with that particular saving and not only that but I got a free camcorder case to go with it so on the whole I really did get a bargain. The other item I saved on was the digital camera, this again was bought from the booth and I made a great saving of $65.00 and again I got a free camera case.

This flea market has 4 different buildings from building A, B, C and D. All of them have such a wide variety of items your bound to find something.

The other Flea market I have visited is located on the 192 further down at mile marker 14, this market is smaller with just over 800 booths but again you will definitely find a bargain here. The hours of opening are do vary but they are definitely open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8.00am till 5.00pm.

I bought gifts for my friends back home and in particular saved money on Disney souvenirs and an MP3 player. This Flea Market has similar booths and choice to the other but on a smaller scale so your choices can be limited but don't rule out a visit because there are certain items, which are slightly cheaper than the other Flea Market.

To Summaries I would say that the Flea Markets in Kissimmee are definitely worth a visit and a good tip is to take a trip to the malls first and if you see something you like make a note of the price and then pay a visit to one of the Markets and compare, I guarantee you will save yourself some cash and they will almost certainly have the item for sale on one of the booths, happy Shopping.
