Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach Water Park is one of two water parks at Disney. This parks extravagant settings are what sets it apart from the rest. With its snow effect scenery the whole park is arranged as if it were in the Rocky Mountains. The slides are disguised to look like skiing pistes and toboggan runs. Here you can relax in the lazy river that circles the park or ride the tallest, fastest and steepest water ride in America, all set in the snowy mountains of a ski resort.
Summit Plummet is the worlds tallest and fastest free-fall body slide. The drop is a 37 metres high ski jump that has a nearly vertical drop and can reach speeds of 60mph. This ride is undoubtedly the best water ride in Orlando but also one of the most feared. Even getting to the top is an achievement, and can take a long time, depending on queues.
Downhill Double DipperGet on your float and blast down the 2 side by side 70 metre enclosed tubes at speeds of 25mph. This ride is one of the most fun at the park and offers a good opportunity to race your friends.
Toboggan RacersRace in one of eight side-by-side lanes that slide down the mountain. Hang on to your mat and head down the slopes. This ride is really fun and a great way to race your friends.
Runoff RapidsGo it alone or grab a friend as you choose your own ride on these 3 different rapids, two open, 1 enclosed. All three tubes have different rides but all three are great fun. The queues for the double rides are often shorter than for the singles.
Snow StormersGrab your mat and ride these 3 different ski salon type rides as you bank your way down to the bottom. These rides are good fun but not the most thrilling.
Teamboat SpringsGrab your 6-seater raft and embark on 1200 feet of twisting white water, as you travel on one of the longest raft rides in the world. However, this ride was very repetitive and despite being a very long ride was very disappointing.
Cross Country CreekKick back and relax in your float as you meander round the park and soak up the sun. This creek is very relaxing but also has a few surprises and is a great way of transporting yourself around the park.
In conclusion, Blizzard Beach is a typical Disney park and is very family orientated. It does not have many rides to choose from but most of the rides it does have are enjoyable. An excellent water park for young children. For people who are seeking a lot of thrills Blizzard Beach is probably not the best all round park but Summit Plummet is a must do.
