Florida Guide > Dining
We experienced our first visit to this highly recommended restaurant and were suitably impressed.
It is definitely worth booking in advance, as we went at a quiet time of year and even that night there was a queue of diners waiting up to 90 minutes to eat there.
As we entered the restaurant the first thing to confront us was the open pit grill where you can watch them cook the HUGE steaks for patrons. There is a bar where you can get a drink while you wait to be seated.
As we had already booked we didn’t have to wait too long to be shown to our table. Although this was our first visit our friends had eaten here a few times before and warned us not to have a starter.
Perusing the menu it was such a shame not to have a starter but we took the advice of experienced fellow diners and moved right to the entrée’s.
Well this place is certainly not for the faint hearted or anyone who isn’t serious about their steaks. They are truly humungous here. The waiter brings a tray with all the different cuts available and explains each cut before leaving you to decide. No one was brave/stupid enough to opt for the 50 ounce whopper, which you can team with the biggest lobster tail’s you have ever seen.
We opted for a more sensible size meal, although be warned, even their smallest steaks are probably enough for 2 people to share.
After ordering we chatted for a while (it’s not a quick process to cook steaks this size) and when our dinners arrived there was much jaw dropping.
Well what can I say, the steaks were divine, they melted in your mouth and this is quite a feat considering the size of them.
We ate as much as we could, chatted and had a few drinks, generally taking our time, and savouring the evening.
Once the table had been cleared the waiter brought round the dessert tray, with an explanation of each dessert offering. Not being someone with much will power I cajoled the other’s to share a dessert with me. As we couldn’t decide between the carrot cake and the chocolate cake we ordered both, between 5 of us.
This was the piece de resistance, it was superb and as full as we were, we managed to finish both of them, and we’re not talking small here either.
I would definitely go along with the consensus and recommend this restaurant for a good meal. It isn’t a cheap night out, but worth every cent.
Go hungry, leave barely able to walk!!!!!!
