Holiday on a budget - part 1
Some people have the ready cash to enjoy a holiday in Orlando any time they wish, but for most people it is the holiday of a lifetime that they have saved for over a long period of time.
It is possible to holiday on a budget and still have a wonderful time as long as you do not scrimp on the essentials. Obviously you can not dictate the airfares or the cost of entry tickets to Disney World and all the other parks, but you can get them at the best possible price by booking them through this site and getting a discount. Book your rental car on this site and you will save money there too. Also, watch the airline prices as they do fluctuate through out the year. Keep an eye on them all the time and as soon as the price drops – book it! It may not be possible to holiday out side of school holiday times, but if you can, then choose an off peak time. April or May is a wonderful weather is very warm and balmy without the high humidity or the cold evenings of November, December and January. January, February and March are actually high season in America due to retirees escaping the bitter cold in other parts of America and the prices of villas may reflect that. These clients are known as “Snowbirds”.
Booking multiple entry theme park tickets will save money, so plan how many days you want to spend in each park and buy the relevant ticket in advance. For example a seven day hopper park ticket will allow you to come and go on different days to the same park and the daily rate will be cheaper than a one day ticket at the door.
One place not to economise on is your choice of villa. After all this will be your home for the duration of your holiday and you would not want to be sleeping on bobbly sheets or drying yourself on threadbare towels. Some very cheap villas, at best will be in a very poor condition or at worst – will not be there when you arrive as the cheap ones often get foreclosed by the mortgage company. This is for the simple reason that by owners charging too little for their rental, they can not afford to pay their mortgage. In America this means immediate foreclosure. Some owners may cut costs by not paying their Sales or tourist taxes and this also results in immediate foreclosure.
So, where else can you economise and still have a brilliant holiday?
I will tell you in part 2 of Holiday on a budget.
