Pauls Florida Diary Day 5 Part 2
Shortly after Will and Karlie returned from the dragon challenge its started to rain once again so we took shelter in one of the Cat in a Hat shops selling lots of sweet goodies so we had fun choosing some sweet treats, but it wasn’t long before the rain turned in to a very heavy thunder and lightning storm with rain coming down very heavy we waited some 20 minutes until it slowed a little and then decided to make our way to the exit as it was still pretty black in the sky
As we had never ever eaten at Hard Rock Castle despite our many visits to Universal we decided to have a late lunch as the weather was still threatening lot of rain and so made our way there from the exit of the park
I expected it to be busy as there was a mass exodus of the park but to my surprise it was not very busy at all we were seated pretty quickly and soon had a nice ice cold beer in my hand as everyone tried to decided what to have for lunch. They have a great menu in Hard Rock loads of burgers but I opted for a pulled pork sandwich with barbeque sauce called a Texan and boy was it good! My Son Will had their signature burger and he confirmed that was good too so after an hour or so we all left hard rock feeling very full indeed.
As it was around 3 in the afternoon we decided to do a little shopping as we couldn’t really sit around the pool due to the rain and sporadic thunder and lightning and so set off to find festival bay a shopping mall we had visited many time before home of the superb “Outdoor World” and Ron Jon’s
We tried to input it into the Sat Nav and came up with a Festival Avenue, Shirley questioned if this was the correct place “sure” I said and we duly set off after about 20 minutes it became apparent that this was not indeed the correct address as we ended up in the city of Orlando!
A quick U turn back down the I4 and we were soon approaching Festival bay which actually did show on the map on the Sat Nav but was not shown in any searches, we turned into the huge carpark and found it was no longer festival bay it was called Artegon Marketplace
Outdoor world and Ron Jon’s are still there and we spent considerable time in outdoor world shopping before moving into the main part of the mall and boy has it changed its now a Market hall with small sellers selling their goods, anything from home made arty things to printed Tee Shirts I have to be honest and say we were all disappointed all the other big shops we liked have gone.
Time to head back to the villa……
