Planning your vacation – points to consider
Planning your vacation. Accommodation is usually the most important feature of a vacation (apart from the weather!) There is a good choice of beautiful villas to suit various needs and budgets, bookable with www.Orlandovillas.com Verified Owners.
Main things to consider
Privacy – Number of bedrooms/bathrooms. For maximum privacy 3/4 bedrooms for 6 - 8 persons is usually preferred. If the group is all adults, consider the number of bathrooms the property offers 2 grandparents may not relish the prospect of sharing a bathroom with 2 teenagers!
Check in and check out times. Remember that check in times on arrival day is usually after 4pm, most flights from UK don’t land until after 2pm so early arrival is not an issue. Guests that are driving to Orlando/Florida should avoid arriving early with a car full of groceries that need to be refrigerated. Check out times tend to be 10-11.00am – mid afternoon flights are more convenient than early evening flights and if have to drive a few hours to get to the departure airport, it is best to avoid morning flights unless you like getting up at 5am!
You may find that after careful planning your chosen accommodation may not be available for the entire length of your stay, your flight may only have availability on a different route or day, or the best flight deals may be with alternative airline, what options should you consider.
Non stop routes. Virgin Atlantic offer non stop flights from UK to Orlando and Miami. British Airways non stop flights from UK to Orlando, Tampa and Miami. Tampa International is approx 15-20 minutes further drive from Orlando/Kissimmee and is a very viable alternative – especially if you plan to stay on the Gulf Coast. Miami is some 4 hrs drive – as most flights arrive 4-5pm it is a good option to stay the first night in Miami/Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton – then drive refreshed to Orlando/Gulf Coast. Many first time guests prefer to stay at a Miami Airport hotel, then pick up rental car the next day. Alternatively if are staying in Orlando and need to return from Miami this too is a good option, you can check out around 10.00am, have a short stop for lunch, and arrive at Miami International Airport 3hours before flight time. All car hire booked with
http://www.orlandovillas.com/car_hire.aspx offers you a choice of pick up and drop off points in Florida (Orlando/Sanford/Tampa/Miami International airports) and there is no one way rental charges for pick up / drop off within Florida.
Indirect routes. Lower flight prices may be found by taking an indirect flight ie. Via another airport, sometimes with the option of a stopover either on the outbound or inbound flight. There may be an additional charge for this option. Air Canada operates flights from UK to Florida, via Toronto/Montreal. Connection times are good but you do have to change aircraft/terminal at Toronto. American Airlines fly via Boston/Miami, US Air via Charlotte/Philadelphia, North West via Detroit, Continental via Newark, Delta via Atlanta/Cincinnati , United via Washington. Make sure you know both the total flying time and total journey time – a 10 hour flight might seem like a good option – not if you spend 6 hours waiting for connecting flight. US immigration is normally cleared through at the stop over points – leaving you free when you arrive in Florida to collect your baggage and go straight to your accommodation – Enjoy!
