Gospel House of Blues Brunch
We had wanted to go to the House of Blues in Downtown Disney, West side for some time.
Here there is a Gospel Brunch every Sunday and it is billed as “A musical celebration of the ' good news, ' praise & thanksgiving, with a delicious all-you-can-eat feast… featuring the best Gospel performers in the world! ”
The show times are 10:30 a. m. & 1 p. m. and the prices at time of writing this guide are $33. 50 adults / $17. 25 children ages 3-9. We called ahead to make reservations on 407-934-2583 and I always recommend doing this although there were some guests the day we were there who were seated without reservations. It is recommended that groups call ahead on 1-407-934-2622
When we arrived and were queuing we had our photos taken in front of the House Of blues. Later you get the opportunity to buy a package of the picture in a House of Blues frame/folder, a keychain and two small pictures.
You get seated in assigned seats before you can go through the buffet line. We shared our very large round table with another family but there was plenty of space so that we were not crammed in.
The food was great! As well as a beverage station/bar there were two long tables full of all kinds of food, plus a carving station and a table for desserts.
Rather than filling our plate with meats etc we started with simply having Cooked Chilled Prawns with Cocktail Sauce.
Later when we went to the he Carving Station we found they had Honey Baked Ham and Roast Top Round of Beef, the servings were extremely generous.
You could then choose to have as much or as little as you like for the following:
Broccoli Salad with Crispy Bacon
Field Greens with Spiced Pecans, Blue Cheese Crumbles and Tomato Shallot Vinagrette
Creole Potatoes and Aparagus Salad
Cornmeal Crusted Catfish
Macaroni & Cheese
Creole Chicken Jambalaya
Delta Red Beans and Rice
I opted for the Beef with broccoli salad and roast potatoes. The girls loved the macaroni cheese and BBQ chicken whilst I think my parents had a bit of everything on their plates!
For pudding you could choose from:
White Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding
Key Lime Pie
Chocolate Walnut Brownies
My parents and I had no room for anymore food but the girl’s just managed a chocolate walnut brownie each.
We finished eating before the show started although you can also eat during the show. The gospel music was really special, and the group performing really tried to make sure the audience had a good time. There were at least nine singers, a drummer, three keyboard players as well as a dancer. There is also a CD you can buy to bring home with you.
If you get the opportunity do try and go to the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues.
